Here's a question to get some discussion started on this forum:

What is our mission?

We don't necessarily need to have one single mission that everyone agrees on. We can have a list of the personal missions of everyone here. And there's no need to set a limit of one mission per person.

Please use this thread to tell us about your personal missions.

As this list gets filled in, we can set up new threads, or perhaps new subforums, that we can use to collaborate with each other on specific projects.

Though maybe a question we should ask first is: Should we all move to one of the Other Transhumanist Forums?

First, I will give my three ( ;)) cents on the first question: Should we all move to one of the Other Transhumanist Forums?

No. Here's why. The only other Transhumanist-centric forum, Transhumanists.org, is not a traditional forum. Yes, it has places for storing videos, pictures, blogs, ect, but one thing is lacking: SUBFORUMS. As it is, Nings can only support a single forum with threads being completely unorganized and messy. It is frustrating just trying to navigate the threads. :(

This is even admitted by the admin of the site, stating:

Quote:
Yeah...the forum layout and features on Ning sucks and as far as I know the 15 minutes is not editable...I hope this gets fixed and the forum resembles something like vbulletin...but I won't hold my breath.

Also, Transhumanist.org has 450+ members, but almost none of them post. The most active thread is the source above.

Basically, I think the Transhumanist community needs an open, flexible, fresh start. This is what I want this place to be, the mission in my mind is:

To create an active, receptive, all-encompassing, self-sustaining Transhumanist-centric community in which all thought and discussion about mankind's future is not only welcomed, but encouraged.

What do you think, guys?
